Activities for everyone in the Alpilles
The Alpilles massif is a mountain range in the northeast of the Bouches-du-Rhône. This space is gathered in a Regional Natural Park, of the same name, having a great wealth in its fauna and in its flora. Many activities to do with family, couple, friends or alone will be on the program of your days in the Alpilles. We particularly advise you to go climbing, tree climbing and via ferrata in the Alpilles. The La Muette team will be able to advise you on the best activities to do in the area.
Cycling routes
Many cycle paths and bike rides start from Arles and its surroundings. Our little favorite is the “Digue à la Mer” route. This beautiful getaway will take you through Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, Salin-de-Giraud, the Camargue National Reserve, the Gacholle lighthouse and many other emblematic points of the Camargue.
The Pont de Gau
To observe the most beautiful birds of the Camargue, go to the Ornithological Park of Pont de Gau. In this natural and protected environment, you may have the chance to see and photograph exceptional species.
The Capeliere reserve
La Capelière is the information center on the nature of the Camargue National Nature Reserve, it has been open since 1979. La Capelière is located in an old Camargue farmhouse and offers you a lot of information on the region, on the activities to do and on the good addresses.
The Vigueirat marshes
To discover the Camargue, we invite you to meet in the Marais du Vigueirat. Nature enthusiasts and lovers of wide open spaces will meet in this unspoiled area. You can go on beautiful guided or free walks, on horseback, in a horse-drawn carriage or on foot.
Domaine Palissade
In order to raise awareness of all types of public and to protect the ecosystem of the Camargue, the protected natural site of the Domaine de la Palissade has been created. Walking or horseback riding tours are organized so that you can get as close as possible to the wild flora and fauna.
